I’m very happy to have just finished my commission of a fried egg!

I don’t often take on commissions as they can be quite stressful. After all, I am basically trying to get inside someone else’s head and picture what they are seeing. That’s not always easy!

But, I liked the idea of trying to capture its slippery texture and I’m happy I did that. Thankfully, the client is also happy. Phew!

A few years ago, my husband, Paul and I decided it would be nice to keep some chickens in the garden. Imagine all of those fresh eggs! The problem was, as soon as I caught two of them squabbling over a juicy fat slug, which was stretched alarmingly long between their two beaks, I couldn’t eat another egg! In fact, my aversion to eggs lasted for a good couple of years!

We don’t have chickens now and I will eat the odd egg, but I have to say, this one is way too runny for me. I always ask for mine to be ‘medium-rare’ which always raises the waiters’ eyebrows! Or… squidgy!

How do you eat yours?

So… What’s next?

Well… I have some ‘eggciting’ news (sorry, couldn’t resist)!

My painting, ‘Light Sensation’ made it into the 2022 SWA Summer Exhibition at the Mall Gallery in London! I was incredibly surprised when I received the email to let me know. It’s the first painting of mine to hang in such a prestigious London gallery and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me feel.

Anyway, should you be in London at the time and you would like to go to the exhibition, here are the details…
